Jesus Is Coming

When is Jesus coming again? The majority of Christians believe that Jesus is coming back to the earth again. That Jesus is coming again to the earth is the cornerstone of prophecy.

The Cornerstone of Prophecy

There are 318 New Testament prediction of Jesus’ return. The only other subject mentioned more often in the New Testament is salvation. And it is salvation that prepares us for the Second Coming of Jesus. You see, unless you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you will not be ready for Him when He does return.

There are many terms that are used to describe the Second Coming of Jesus.

  • I Cor. 1:7 – Jesus will “be revealed”.
  • I Thess. 3:13 – “The Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones.”
  • Mark 13:26 – “At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.”
  • Titus 2:13 – “the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Perhaps the Titus passage best describes this magnificent event. Even Tim LaHaye & Jerry Jenkins entitled one of their books on the Second Coming, “The Glorious Appearing.” Because this is what it will be, the glorious appearing of Jesus when the whole world will see Him.

Doesn’t The Whole World See Him At The Rapture?

This has been debated by many Bible Scholars. Some think that the whole world will witness Jesus appearing in the heavens and all the born-again Christians rising up to meet Him. However, this does not seem to be the case.

It seems like the only people who witness this “Rapture” will be those who participate in it. The rest of the world will simply witness a “disappearance.” Remember passages like Matthew 24:40 (NIV): “Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.”

At the time of the Rapture, nothing spectacular happens except a sudden disappearing of people. Those left behind will only wonder at what happened.

Some Will Know What Happened

Yes, there are some, in fact I believe there will be millions who will realize what happened. These are those who have heard the message of the Bible concerning the Rapture but have not believed it. They considered it too far fetched for something like that to happen. However, when it does happen, they will immediately realize that “they missed it.”

In fact, I personally know some preachers that are in this situation. They know what the Bible says about the Second Coming of Jesus, but they have refused to believe it. They are too caught up in a Social Gospel to accept a miracle like this. But when it does happen, they will be the first to began proclaiming that Jesus did come again and that people had better begin repenting or they will miss out on eternal life.

The Second Coming Will Be Seen By Everyone

God does not want anyone to miss out on the Second Coming. Those who were raptured certainly will not miss out. So God gives us warning after warning so that we will not be fooled into believing a lie, and thus not be prepared for His Second Coming. In fact, God tells us in Matthew 24:26 (NIV): “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the desert,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.”

There have already been several men who have claimed to be Jesus coming back for his people. But God declares: “Don’t believe them.” Then He tells us why. God says that when Jesus comes again, no one can mistake it. Matthew 24:27 (NIV): “For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”

In fact read all of Matt. 24. God tells us that the signs that will appear immediately before and during the Second Coming of Jesus will be unmistakable. Matthew 24:30 (NIV)  says: “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.”

But Remember, The Rapture Will Happen First

The question is: “Are you ready for this?” Are you ready for when Jesus returns for His Church, when He returns for those who have already accepted Him as their Lord and Savior? Or will you be one of those who “wakes up” right after the Rapture and will have to go though the Tribulation Period.

A Second Chance

Yes, you will have a second chance. But do you really want to have to go through that terrible Tribulation Period? I don’t care if it is 7 years or just 3 ½ years. It will simply not be worth it. And will you really have the courage to face the torture that you will undoubtedly face? Or will you “cave in” because the pressure is too great.

That is a chance I don’t want to take. I praise the Lord that I do live in America where I don’t have to face that kind of pressure. Millions around the word are facing that pressure right now and we need to pray for them every day. Think about what they are enduring right now because of their faith in Jesus.

The Time For A Decision Is Now

The time for you to make your decision for Jesus is right now. Don’t take the chance that you still have time to do it. Remember, Jesus will come when we least expect it. Also, do you know when you will die, perhaps even suddenly?

Don’t chance it. If you have not already made your decision to make Jesus your Lord and Savior. Click on this link and go to “How To Live Forever.”
