The 7 Bowl Judgments of Revelation – 2

We looked at the pouring out of the first 5 Bowls of Wrath, found in the Book of Revelation, in my last article. Now we look at the final judgments of God and the final battle of the Antichrist. What does all of this tell us? It tells us that no matter what the world is saying, in the end God Wins!

The Sixth Bowel of Wrath – Rev. 16:12-16

The pouring out of the sixth Bowl of Wrath is more of an informational event than an actual judgment.

Two things happen:

1) The Euphrates River is dried up in preparation for the armies of the kings from the east to march on Israel.

In order for a massive army from the east to cross the Euphrates River, it will have to be dry. God says that he will do this. This will then allow armies from the north, the south and the east to converge on Israel for the last final battle that verse 16 calls Armageddon.

This is a huge river and it has been deemed impossible to stop its flow. However, in 1990 it was reported that the Ataturk Dam that was built in Turkey is capable of stopping the flow of the Euphrates River. Whether God uses that Dam or not is not relevant. God can just evaporate the river. Remember, nothing is impossible for God.

2) The demonic forces bring the armies of the world to the valley of Megiddo to fight against Jesus, Himself.

John records in Rev. 16:13-14 (NIV): “Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.”

This verse tells us that it is the Antichrist that calls the armies of the world together to conquer Israel. But it is not just his call to arms that convinces the armies of the world to come against Israel. Notice that it says that evil spirits come from the dragon, the Antichrist and the false prophet. The rulers of these armies are convinced by evil spirits to march against Israel.

Jesus Gives Another Warning

God is doing His best to warn the human race about His Second Coming. He says in the next verse, Rev. 16:15 (NIV): “Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed.”

This almost seems like in interruption in the story. However, this is actually Jesus speaking and giving another warning to remain alert and watch for His Second Coming. He says that He is coming like a thief. No, He is not coming to steal. But rather He is saying that He is coming when we least expect Him to come, just like a thief does.

Be ready and expect Him to come at any time. Don’t be lulled to sleep because nothing seems to be happening. I think that He is warning us that He is going to return before we even begin to suspect that the time is close enough that we can expect Him.

The Seventh Bowel of Wrath – Rev. 16:17-21

This is the final judgment poured out on the earth. This is what happens when the armies of the world gather at Armageddon to try to defeat God and His people. Why such a large army to come against such a small country, the country of Israel? Actually, nothing that the people who are led by the Antichrist do make any sense. Let’s just say that the Antichrist is going to make his last stand a big one. He comes against God and His people with everything he has.

But look at what happens. There is no battle fought. There is no war. God supernaturally defeats the army of the Antichrist. Rev. 16:18 (NIV): “Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.”

The army of the Antichrist is destroyed, not by another army, but by lightening and a great earthquake and according to Rev. 16:21, huge hailstones. Rev. 16:21 (NIV): “From the sky huge hailstones of about a hundred pounds each fell upon men.”

God gives us a more detailed explanation of what happens in Rev. 19:17-21.

God pours out his wrath on Babylon. Babylon had become the economic and religious center of the world. It was set up indirect opposition to God’s kingdom. It is no wonder that God destroys Babylon like He does

Rev. 16:19 (NIV): “The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath.”

The army of the Antichrist is destroyed. Then he and the false prophet are captured and thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Finally, Satan himself is seized, bound and cast into the Bottomless Pit for a thousand years. This period of time is commonly called “the Millennium.” You will find several articles on the Millennium in this blog under the category of “Second Coming.”

God Wins

Today, people are trying to make a better world. However, it is a world based on what they want, not what God wants. In fact, these people have rejected God’s plan for the human race and substituted their own.

The radical Muslims are trying to dominate the world and destroy all of God’s people. To understand this, all you have to do is to listen to the leaders of radical Islam. They are very outspoken as to what their plans are.

It makes no difference what the people of the world think or believe. The book of Revelation spells it out very clearly. It makes no difference what people think, in the end God wins.

The question is: “Whose side are you on?” Have you decided to accept God’s great gift of salvation? Or have you decided that you are going to do whatever you want to do, even if it is against God’s will? If you want to accept God’s great gift of salvation, click on How To Live Forever and follow what is written there.

God is giving you every opportunity to choose to live with Him. What is your choice? However, remember this, in the end, God wins.
