The Millennium Revealed

If you have read my previous articles on the Millennium, you know that the Millennium is a reality that is going to happen in our future. God has revealed this to us in His Holy Bible. However, God has also revealed what the Millennium will be like. And this is revealed throughout His Holy Bible.

The word Millennium is not in the Bible. However, remember that “millennium” means “one thousand.” The concept of a one thousand period is taught throughout the Bible.

Jesus Will Set Up His Kingdom On The Earth

Revelation 20 mentions “one thousand years” six different times. It tells us that Christ will reign on the earth for a period of one thousand years. This passage leaves no doubt that this is going to happen. Jesus will set up His Kingdom here on the earth for one thousand years.

A careful reading of Zechariah 14 tells us that Jerusalem will be the capital of this kingdom that Jesus will set up. It also tells us that people from all over the world will travel to Jerusalem to worship Jesus.

Satan Is Chained In The Pit

One of the most marvelous things that will happen during the Millennium will be that Satan will no longer be wandering the earth deceiving people. This, in itself, will make the Millennium a wonderful time to live in.

Rev. 20:2-3 (NIV) says: “He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended.”

Peace Will Last For One Thousand Years

This is a peace like the world has never known before. In fact, Isaiah says something that is almost unbelievable. Isaiah 65:25 (NIV): “’The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent’s food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain,’ says the Lord.”

Some say that Isaiah is speaking of the new heaven and new earth. However, when the new heaven and new earth is established, there will be no more death. Verse 25 follows directly after Isaiah talks about people living a long time, but not forever. I believe that this is referring to the Millennium.

God finally steps into history and dramatically changes things. If even wild animals will be tame, then what kind of peace will people experience? There will be no wars, not even any crime. We will not have to live in fear. There will be peace and harmony throughout the world.

What This Kingdom Will Be Like

Isaiah 65 tells us some more astonishing facts about the Millennium. Isaiah 65:20 (NIV): “Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who  does not live out his years; he who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere youth; he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed.”

How long will people live. Well, if someone dies at 100 is considered a mere youth, you guess how long people will live.

There will be people born who will reject Jesus and His authority. But listen to what happens to them. The New King James Version explains the original Hebrew the best. It says in Isaiah 65:20 (NKJV): “But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.” It sounds like anyone who rebels against the authority of Jesus will die young.

Jesus Wins

The story is told of a humble Bible-believing custodian of a liberal seminary. One day, while he was sitting reading his Bible one of the young students asked him if he understood what he was reading.

The custodian said: “I sure do!”

Then the young man asked: “What does it say?”

The custodian declared: “Jesus Wins!”

Whose Side Are You On?

Yes, there is a war going on. And it is between those who believe in Jesus and those who do not. Which side are you on? While you think about this, just remember who wins.

You do not have to be on the wrong side. Go here and read “How To Live Forever” and find out how to be on the right side.
